Driving the open road on a much-anticipated trip between Cleveland, Ohio, and Hilton Head, South Carolina, 
for your daughter’s wedding is a memorable experience in itself. However, Kristof and Debbie Janowski had no way of knowing that when they passed through a little known paradise called Lake Norman that they eventually would travel down the same roads again. “We were on our way to our daughter’s wedding and just decided to drive through the Lake Norman area in North Carolina north of Charlotte. Right away we recognized the beauty and loved it,” said Debbie. “Now we are buying a home on the water, just as we playfully dreamed about that day.”
At the time, Debbie and her husband had no way of knowing that his employer would choose to open a new office near Lake Norman two years later and that he would be one of the employees making the move with the company.
“We know of one other gentleman who will be moving from the plant in Long Island, New York, and my husband has already told him about the lake,” said Debbie.
Currently, the Janowskis are anxiously awaiting closing their new home in August and selling their current home in Cleveland.
“It’ll all work out, partially because of the all the insight and work of Nadine Deason and her team at Keller Williams Realty. We have been in regular contact, and Nadine spent one entire weekend with us when we came in to look around. Since then, her assistant, LaDonna, has been able to answer all of our questions,” explained Debbie.
Once again, chance played a part in the relationship between the Janowskis and Team Nadine.
“While we were in the area, we found a house and Nadine was the broker. She answered our call and all of our questions right away, so we knew right then that we wanted her to help us find a home.”
Choosing to purchase a new home at Lake Norman was an easy decision for the Janowskis; they’ll be about equidistant from their four children in Ohio, Florida and Georgia. The lake is just 25 to 30 minutes from Charlotte, North Carolina, and a major international airport, two hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains and three-and-a-half hours from the beach.
“Lake Norman homes priced, when compared to other major metropolitan areas, can’t be beat,” Deason explained. “Also, the taxes and cost of living are so much more affordable for folks moving from places like Ohio. Buyers are ecstatic when they find out our tax rates.”
